Well this past weekend was glorious! It was the Dog Days of Summer biking/winery tour near Cleveland/Oberlin with Aunt Nancy and Chris and it was awesome!! We biked a TON and all got some sun. It was so hot that the tar stuck to my shoes and tires when my bike was stopped. I climbed the most ridiculous hills, and one of them stopped me in my tracks halfway up! It was quite rural where we were which lended itself to some very pretty scenery!
Following our biking adventure I headed to Cleveland Heights area to hang out with Curtis and Charley! I met Curtis at UT and Charley is Curtis's boyfriend/fiancee so that is how I met him! I have hung out with them before and it is ALWAYS a fun time!! I took a nap, got ready, then we all went out to the club Bounce. There are a nice mix of people there and I never worry because I am with gay men who make sure creepers do not hit on me or try and dance with me. Curtis took my camera hostage and snapped some rather ridiculous pictures...he really is a great photographer
. We danced, had some cocktails, stopped for an early breakfast (go ahead and laugh) where I had eggs and some whole grain toast. Pretty sure I made them Egg Beaters...haha! I FINALLY got to sleep in a bit on Sunday since I have had limited sleep over the last few weeks due to being busy in general and out of town. I cannot wait to hang with Curtis and Charley again! SO many funny quotes, not enough room to post them. Charley thought the parking ticket I would get on my car (for parking in the street) would be super expensive so he kept yelling IT IS SOOOOO EXPENSIVE!!! I ended up moving my car into the driveway; crisis averted. Charley also kept telling his younger brother "Isn't Christine pretty? Look how pretty she is!" Curtis really did not say too many things because he was our driver. I made a slightly slap happy phone call in the wee hours of the morning to the nice pilot who took me sailing a few weeks ago. I left a voicemail that, as far as I know, was not incriminating or embarrassing, I just acted really friendly and funny I am sure. Yikes.
Sunday was a fabulous time with Laura Jackson!! I have not seen her in FOREVER and we had a great time shopping, going to Aladdin's for lunch and buying makeup! I only bought two eye shadows but Laura picked out awesome stuff from Sephora! Her face literally looked amazing. She and I have the same sense of humor and share a love of men, food, makeup and all around awesomeness.
I thought my car was going to EXPLODE on the ride to Toledo, but praise heavens I made it back in one piece. I took it into a shop in BG Monday morning only to find out that the previous shop I took it to: FORGOT TO CHANGE MY OIL even though it was on the bill! Literally no oil in my car. I have limited knowledge about cars, but I know that is not good at all. Everything is ok and my car is running perfectly!
Nothing else exciting to report. Cincinnati this weekend for Abby's baby shower and hanging out with Mandy and Eric!! Plus, I will get to see the one and only Lizzy Mayers...hoollllaaaa!!!
Until next time....
