New Adventures of Old Christine

Well it is official...I got a new job and am relocating to....dun dun dun....Washington D.C.!!

I am very excited about this change and I think it will be a good one! What spawned this, you ask? Well, being a young single and accomplished (haha) gal such as myself, there is not much to do around Northwest Ohio, or lots of Ohio as a matter of fact. I figured a change of scenery would be nice and I wanted to pick a place that is young, vibrant, active and has a lot going for it! D.C. seemed to be the perfect fit. I have loved it everytime I have visited and could always picture myself living there. This is the time to do it, and I know that if I do not do something I will regret it. If I do not like it, I can always move back...but I doubt I will not enjoy myself :)

I will be working for a private practice and I got a really really good vibe from the owner, so I am very pumped about that! The new job will start in January so I am moving in December. It will be sad to leave all of my Toledo and beyond friends, but luckily there is FB and email! Plus, I am pretty good at making friends so I am sure I will make some great new ones too! I already know some people down there so that is a huge plus! YAY!! Excitement all around!

It will also be hard leaving my job now, since I enjoy the job itself and everyone I work with. They were very understanding and agree that if I want to move and explore new things, now is the time to do it! I have no doubt that they will find someone wonderful!! Clearly not as funny or witty as me but what can you do....HAHAAH!! I kid, I kid!

In other news, Dad comes home from Europe on the 17th..YAY!!! He is very excited to be home and we are excited to have him back :)
Sarah, one of my speech friends, is getting married this coming Saturday and that will be a BLAST! I am looking forward to seeing how gorgeous she looks but also excited to see alllll of my speech friends!! It should be a great time, plus who passes up good food and drinks and dancing?!?!? Still not 100% sure who my date is, but hopefully Marie can stay the weekend and do me the honor! She is coming down Friday and we are hanging..woot woot!! Also super pumped about that!!

Have I mentioned how excited I am about moving? I am looking for a place to live on Craigslist. I know, CRAIGSLIST!! Murderers are on that site, Christine!! Actually, there are also very legit people and places to live. I am talking to one really cool girl at the moment but I am not sure if our schedules will mesh up for the proper moving time..I sure hope so because I enjoy chatting with her and she lives in a location where I am hoping to move!! Stay tuned.

That is the exciting news from Toledo, nothing else happening. The blog should surely be interesting and even more funny now!!

Thanks for reading and until next time....you stay classy.

It's been toooooo long!!

Hello everyone, not to worry, I am still alive!! Let me update you on some happenings:

Two weekends ago, I went down to Cincinnati to hang out with Mandy and Eric DiSalle, two of my favorite people and I had a stellar time!! They have a great place and it is walking distance to the bars and restaurants in their neighbo
rhood. Friday night was relaxed, Saturday Mandy and I worked out and went wedding dress shopping with one of her friends; she bought the dress and looked gorgeous! Mandy and I found a FIVE THOUSAND dollar dress for about 800....if I would have had extra money I used to fix my car, I totally would have bought it...Mandy said I should have too!! Always next time.....

Saturday afternoon I had a baby shower for Abby and that was fun! It is always nice to see the speech ladies (and Jen!) haha! Good food, lots of baby gifts and good times! Congrats Abby and Dave, looking forward to meeting your little one soon :)

After the baby shower I headed back to Many and Eric's to party!!!!! We got all dressed up and headed to a new Martini Bar downtown (very cool hangout) then went to another bar downtown. Eric dropped Mandy and I off at this cool bar really close to their house and Eric parked the car and met us there. Eric's two friends Andrew and "Noodle"
(aka Curt) were already there so we were hanging out with them. It was happy hour until MIDNIGHT so we enjoyed that for sure :) Tequila is always good, just an FYI. We headed back home, but stopped to get pizza by the slice (sorry Liz....we were hungry...and a little tipsy) but the worst part is I DROPPED MY CRUST!! I literally yelled MY CRRUUUUUSSSTTT and Mandy thought someone shot off my leg...hahahahah pricelesss!!! Here comes the REALLY funny part of the evening...
We headed back to Mandy and Eric's, chilled, and Mandy and I headed upstairs to go to bed. I am in the guestroom sleeping and all of a sudden my door opens. That's weir, am I dreaming? Someone climbs into the bed!!!! I say, "Who is in my bed?" (very Three Bears story-ish) and it is Andrew. He claims it is also his room to sleep since he stays there when he goes over Mandy and Eric's. We went back and forth until finally I just said stay in the room. Fun times!

The next day Mandy
and I had an amazing breakfast and headed to Cincinnati Premium Outlets! So many great stores and I bought a Michael Kors sweater (love it!!) and that was my only purchase. Gasp, I know. Cannot wait to hang with Mandy and Eric again!! :)

LAST week Mom and I took Chelle to the airport for her trip to Germany then France! Going to miss you Chelle but glad we have Skype :) I also got Rob's older laptop since he is a JERK and got a new Macbook Pro and an iPad. The new lappy is great and does not crash every five seconds...woot woot! THANKS ROB!!
LAST weekend Mom and I headed to D.C. to do some sight-seeing and other stuff! We had a blast, even though she did not do a segway tour with me......
Our hotel was alright, but we got a lot accomplished and the weather was beautiful! We went shopping a bit but did not make it to see Aunt Jenni, as originally planned. Oh well, still a success!!

In other news, I got to see my girl Lizzy last night for some games at her place and had a great time, as usual! We will get to hangout again tonight...yay! I am pumped it is Labor Day weekend, as I get an extra day to sleep in! Maybe I will try and scrapbook a bit later tonight...who knows! On the boy front....OH PLEASE! I am honestly not even looking or wanting a boy at this time because it's not worth it, I do not have the time and they are so lame. Sorry boys, but you are. This does not mean I will not enjoy meeting new ones and flirting and hanging out, but beyond that probably nothing :) I am still looking for a date to Sarah's wedding but hopefully Marie can go...best date ever!

Enjoy the extended weekend everyone! I will update soon on the exciting happenings of the world of Christine! Until next time.....xoxo

Biking fun! And some Bounce...

Well this past weekend was glorious! It was the Dog Days of Summer biking/winery tour near Cleveland/Oberlin with Aunt Nancy and Chris and it was awesome!! We biked a TON and all got some sun. It was so hot that the tar stuck to my shoes and tires when my bike was stopped. I climbed the most ridiculous hills, and one of them stopped me in my tracks halfway up! It was quite rural where we were which lended itself to some very pretty scenery! There were snacks along the stops and the wineries were, of course, delicious. I bought a bottle called Purple Haze...it has a fruity grape taste and I am sure will taste excellent when chilled. I have not had wine in a pretty long time, as I am trying to stick to just rum and diets when I go out or have a cocktail at home; calorie and sugar saver. Anyway....thanks Aunt Nancy and Chris, I had a blast!! The funny part of the weekend was that we stayed at The Oberlin Inn and there was a Welsh Corgi festival or something the next day so those dogs were EVERYWHERE around the hotel! So random.

Following our biking adventure I headed to Cleveland Heights area to hang out with Curtis and Charley! I met Curtis at UT and Charley is Curtis's boyfriend/fiancee so that is how I met him! I have hung out with them before and it is ALWAYS a fun time!! I took a nap, got ready, then we all went out to the club Bounce. There are a nice mix of people there and I never worry because I am with gay men who make sure creepers do not hit on me or try and dance with me. Curtis took my camera hostage and snapped some rather ridiculous pictures...he really is a great photographer
. We danced, had some cocktails, stopped for an early breakfast (go ahead and laugh) where I had eggs and some whole grain toast. Pretty sure I made them Egg Beaters...haha! I FINALLY got to sleep in a bit on Sunday since I have had limited sleep over the last few weeks due to being busy in general and out of town. I cannot wait to hang with Curtis and Charley again! SO many funny quotes, not enough room to post them. Charley thought the parking ticket I would get on my car (for parking in the street) would be super expensive so he kept yelling IT IS SOOOOO EXPENSIVE!!! I ended up moving my car into the driveway; crisis averted. Charley also kept telling his younger brother "Isn't Christine pretty? Look how pretty she is!" Curtis really did not say too many things because he was our driver. I made a slightly slap happy phone call in the wee hours of the morning to the nice pilot who took me sailing a few weeks ago. I left a voicemail that, as far as I know, was not incriminating or embarrassing, I just acted really friendly and funny I am sure. Yikes.

Sunday was a fabulous time with Laura Jackson!! I have not seen her in FOREVER and we had a great time shopping, going to Aladdin's for lunch and buying makeup! I only bought two eye shadows but Laura picked out awesome stuff from Sephora! Her face literally looked amazing. She and I have the same sense of humor and share a love of men, food, makeup and all around awesomeness.

I thought my car was going to EXPLODE on the ride to Toledo, but praise heavens I made it back in one piece. I took it into a shop in BG Monday morning only to find out that the previous shop I took it to: FORGOT TO CHANGE MY OIL even though it was on the bill! Literally no oil in my car. I have limited knowledge about cars, but I know that is not good at all. Everything is ok and my car is running perfectly!

Nothing else exciting to report. Cincinnati this weekend for Abby's baby shower and hanging out with Mandy and Eric!! Plus, I will get to see the one and only Lizzy Mayers...hoollllaaaa!!!

Until next time....

Chop chop

Well, for the FIRST TIME in my LIFE I did something to my hair other than cut it. That's right people I got HIGHLIGHTS!! I had been thinking of doing this for a while and finally decided to take the plunge. I know lots of girls do this but my hair is naturally blonde and I love it and always relish in the fact that I do not have to pay a bunch of money to have nice natural hair. However, with my cool short hair why not change it up a bit? Soooo my amazing hairdresser extraodinaire Tina picked a great color for the highlights and....voila! I really like the cut and highlights...I never thought it would look so different, but so subtle.

Summer summer summer....and I'm on a boat!!

Well it has been quite the busy week, I must say! Where should I begin...

Work is crazy as usual, no surprise there, but everyone knows how much I love the kiddos. Elly gets back from her honeymoon soon so that will make things a bit smoother. The nursing home is giving me some hours and those are ALWAYS nice since it is extra money...woo hoo!

Ok onto some fun things. This past Wednesday I went sailing with Jason (the nice guy I met at Miss Elly's wedding) and two of his friends...it was soooo much fun! The weather was perfect and everyone got along really well. I even managed to pull off some one liners. Surprised??! I didn't think so. There was only one or two times that I got nervous, mainly because I thought the boat
was going to go under the water and I with it, but that did not happen! The cool thing is that the boat can get really low right into the water, so you can actually touch the water. I had a hard time doing that since I am so...you know...midget like...but I am sure I will get the hang of sometime. I seriously had a great time and I THINK we might hang out again sometime soon. This is not 100% but my spidey senses tell me it could happen. Jason is a nice funny guy and his friends are cool too. If nothing else, I have a cool new friend. Stay tuned!

This weekend I did not meet any other boys. Thank God.

I went to Anja's on Saturday for a cocktails and croquet party!!
Yep, it is just as it sounds! I won my first game of croquet so of course I was relishing in my victory. We dressed to the nines and had a fabulous time! I always love hanging out with Anja; she is so fun and we get along so well, we pick up right where we left off the last time! After hanging out and drinking some cocktails and eating some snacks at Anja and Scott's we headed over to Club Luna. This was a pretty fun place, great music and good dancing. They also had $1 drink specials every hour so of course I had one of those. Nothing crazy though, trust me! There was a bit of craziness as Scott (Anja's husband) had a few too many cocktails, but everything was fine in the end! I love ya, Anja!!!!! Cannot wait to see you again...soooooon :)

After my trip to Michigan I headed to Alicia's for a lia sophia jewelery party! We were co-hosts and thanks to my wonderful family and her family that was at the party we are going to be able to get some nice stuff for a discounted price! My Mom picked out some nice things, and we even went for the same necklace...suprised?!?! Didn't think so! There were not many people physically at the party but online orders are always a strength when it comes to ordering. I cannot wait to get my bling!

The "meal plan" is going well, I did not eat any Gummi Bears ALL WEEKEND!! This is seriously miraculous since they are my VICE, along with Swiss chocolate. I tried on dresses at Kohl's and I somehow managed to fit my body into a size THREE dress!! It was strapless so the girls were not exactly perfect in it so I did not get it, but a size three shut the front door!! Sometimes it is really hard but I just have to think of the awesome benefits. My friend Lizzy is truly the bomb. I had an awesome workout today and I thought I was going to go into cardiac arrest on the stairmill, but I turned up my iPod and stepped away. Love the big calorie burn!!

I rented "Dear John" tonight to relax to and will now finish my night with some Entourage. Yes, I watch Entourage. This week should be good, looking forward to the 60 mile bike ride to different wineries in Cleveland area! On a sad note, I have to go to the dentist because ONE tooth in my WHOLE mouth is not fitting into the trays the right way so I have to get MORE impressions done in the morning. Ugh I am quite irritated. Yes, I know they are making my teeth pretty and straight but one tooth makes me wonder why it is just one tooth, know what I mean?? I'll update that also, for those of you who want to be in the know.

Until next time.....I'll see you soon

Samesies!!!

This weekend went by way too fast (as usual) but it was a blast! Here is the recap:

Friday was the annual "Christmas in July" Rehab Party. I had a special date, my dear friend Adrienne who I have known since Undergrad! We had not seen each other in over a year so it was good to see her and catch up! Plus we always have fun!
Corn-hole was fun although we lost and there was some excellent rum punch and amazing food! Good times had by all!
Adrienne beat me at Words With Friends on our Ipod Touches....I never get beaten :( Rematch!! Saturday Adrienne and I went to the mall, I got FREE panties from Victoria's Secret and a new sports bra...it's awesome. I knew it was awesome because I worked out and everything stayed in place...sorry if that is too much info but it's true. Had a killer workout then got ready to go out and meet my favorite boys in the whole world!! This is where the real fun begins...

Kyle and I...what a stud.
Kyle and Scott are two of my best friends, if not best guy friends (including you JonJon) and we all get along really well. They are my snowboarding friends and I have known them for several years. It is cool because we act like brothers and sister and there is NO DRAMA!!!

Scott and I lookin good...as usual.
So, I was meeting up with the fellas at Trotter's since they live right next door. Literally, right next door; which came in handy when we all walked back later that evening. I get there, did not plan on drinking and had a few too many beverages. The problem was that I did not eat dinner after I worked out and had two rum and cokes and literally felt a little tipsy within an hour...yikes. The shots Kyle bought everyone did not help, but it made for a fun evening :)

I ended up staying at Kyle's condo with Scott and his other roommates. In true Christine form, I was hitting on one of his roommates (also named Kyle...) and etc etc etc. No need to type anymore about that!! ;)

After I woke up roughly at 11 am I went to BG to have pizza and suckers for Betsy' birthday!! Paiglia's in BG has the BEST pizza ever. Worked at the nursing home and relaxed the rest of the evening.

This weekend should be fun, lots going on! Michigan to hangout with Anja Saturday afternoon/night and Sunday is the Lia Sophia Jewelery Party Alicia and I are hosting...should be a good time!

Invisalign update: New trays on Wednesday, which puts my finish date sometime in OCTOBER!! YAY!! I will post before and after pics when that time rolls around...what a transformation. Thanks everyone for the lovely compliments!

Until next time . . . .

Yuuummmm

Well, one of my favorite things in the world (along with makeup, shoes, handbags, men and snowboarding...) is Haribo Gummi Bears!! Mom and Dad sent me a package with a 2.2 lb bag of Haribo Gummi Bears!! Needless to say I was pretty pumped! No worries I will not be eating these in one sitting and these will take me a loooooong time to eat!!

In other news, I actually WORKED on my DAY OFF!! I went into work to see some of Miss Elly's kiddos since she is on her honeymoon...jealous!! I do not mind, she is a good person and deserves it! I also worked at the nursing home, which I do not mind either because it is a ridiculous amount of money for little time.

Had an awesome workout, killed it!

Law Abiding Citizen is on so I will watch that...who turns down a Gerard Butler movie????
